The following esteemed executives will be joining this year's Industry Leaders' Panel:
Timothy Creedon, CFA is Managing Director and Director of Research of the Global Equity Research Department at Neuberger Berman, a leading investment manager with over $250B in assets under management.
He joined Neuberger Berman in 2005. Prior to his appointment as Director of Research, Mr. Creedon served as an equity analyst covering Consumer Staples. He previously spent three years working as a sell-side research associate at Lehman Brothers, also covering consumer stocks, and two years working in their Private Equity group, where he was responsible for analysing and executing investments in early stage TMT companies.
He began his career in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, covering the telecommunications industry. Mr. Creedon graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with a concentration in International Economics.
Sonia Gardner is President, Managing Partner, and Co-Founder of Avenue Capital Group, one of the largest distressed debt investors globally, managing assets of $13.3B with ten offices worldwide.
Ms. Gardner co-founded Avenue with her brother Marc Lasry, starting with $7MM from friends and family. She also co-founded Amroc Investments, LP, a boutique distressed brokerage firm, where she was a Senior Portfolio Manager. Prior Amroc, she was the General Counsel and the Senior Managing Director of the predecessor to Amroc which was associated with the Robert Bass Group, Inc. Distressed investing has been the focus of Ms. Gardner’s professional career over the past 29 years.
In 2008 Ms. Gardner received the Industry Leadership Award from 100 Women in Hedge Funds, where she now sits on the Board of Directors in both New York and London. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Her Justice, a nonprofit organisation focused on helping victims of domestic violence, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Mount Sinai Medical Center. She received a B.A. with Honours in Philosophy from Clark University and a J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law.
Jason Sippel is Managing Director and Head of Equities Trading for the Americas at J.P. Morgan, one of the most highly regarded financial services firms in the world.
From 2007 to 2009 he was Head of Equity Derivatives in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to Tokyo, Mr. Sippel was based in Hong Kong where he was Head of Asia Ex-Japan, for regional Credit and Rates exotics trading, and also lead structuring for exotic derivatives across asset classes. He joined J.P. Morgan in 2005 as Vice President of Credit Exotics Trading and Structuring in Japan. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Sippel was Vice President of Hybrids Trading at Gen Re Securities in Tokyo, where he structured long-dated FX hybrids and built risk management infrastructure. Before Gen Re, he held a number of derivative structuring and trading positions at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse.
He began his banking career on the Swaps trading desk at Lehman Brothers in London. Mr. Sippel graduated from Cambridge University, where he studied Economics and Statistics.
